Period 334

Filed under: Updates — CanonRap @ 11:48 pm

There… really isn’t much to say.

– Asuna to the rescue! Par for the course. That dress is one of Akamatsu’s best costume designs of the series.

– Yay, new Ensis Exorcizans! Finally!

– Huh, so it is Nagi. So does the Lifemaker just take over or possess (or whatever) the latest one to defeat… it?

– A more pertinent question would be, was that really Nagi talking, or the Lifemaker talking through him? Most likely the former considering the speech pattern, but can’t completely rule out the latter.

– Asuna’s title is rather long in the “I command the world” part.

I think, more than anything else, I felt relief. It has been very difficult and exhaustive to follow this arc from one battle to the next as the weeks rolled past, and I’m glad it seems to be finally coming to a close.

PS: Volume 35 is out today (August 17th) by the way. I’ll try to pick it up over the weekend, if it’s available locally.

  1. So… Nagi has been found, Asuna’s past revealed, Negi grew up…

Why do I have a feeling that Negima’s end is imminent?

Seriously, all we have left is the village, demon-trauma and that last spell he didn’t use.

Oh and Zazie + future + Iincho. But all of that can be handled with future-end.

  4. Wow…I can’t believe with how long the MW arc’s been dragged out the Big Bad got ‘defeated’ in one chapter…Not to mention it did end up being Nagi under that hood, confirming many peoples’ predictions.

Although Asuna and Negi combining their powers for the final attack was cheesy(not to mention isn’t Negi supposed to be kinda completely out of magical power by now?) I’m just glad the final battle’s over. Even without translations I can tell this chapter is definitely not one of Akamatsu’s best, with the rushed feeling and all.

I hope after the movie Akamatsu can get Negima back on track in terms of pacing and that the next arc doesn’t disappoint.

    • Use Yesasia. If your order is over 40 dollars, you get free shipping. That’s how I bought volumes 7-15 and 28-30 in Japanese.

  7. So, when DID Nagi get taken over? After all, he did give Negi a staff to put him on the path a few years back.

  8. Knowing the one behind that hood was Nagi, didn’t surprised me..

  9. I hope it didn’t ended with just one combined attack.

  10. These last few chapter sure felt rushed. But then again, I’m reminded of Rakan’s fight – We got a lot of Red Herring/This Ends Now chapters, and there was always more.

    Let’s hope that’s it.

  12. Wait does that mean Eva is doomed to be trapped within Mahora forever?!

  13. I really don’t think Nagi is gone. It certainly didn’t seem that way. I’m conflicted on this chapter, to be honest. I think the fact we had to wait so long is partly to blame for all the negative feedback. Unfortunately, what some of the fans have said is pretty true. Even though Akamatsu confirmed at least one more arc, there really isn’t much ammo left for the series. But, we’ve seen plenty of manga where just when you thought everything had been done, it continues nonetheless.
