Fighty scenes are always fun to translate – long strings of んうおおおおおおっ! and はああああああっ! with little dialogue in between.

  1. Oh god, that handshake. DAT HANDSHAKEEEE!

  2. (Fate) That is
(Fate) the only salvation for this meaningless world,
(Fate) and our duty as its creators.

Did Fate just refer to himself as a creator of Mundus Magicus? Or was he talking in general about Kosmo Entelekheia?

    Comment by Rhonin the wizard — May 19, 2011 @ 11:13 pm

    • Probably about Kosmo Entelekheia in general.

  3. Numbers of pages “12-13-13-14-15-17-18”, I think this isn’t right?)
But, big thanks for the translate!
P.S. interesting, the lifemaker fall in love with Nagi?)

  4. Page 3, panel 3: that’s Negi talking (about saving Shiori), not Fate.
From page 14 and on, that’s not Fate, but Secundum (“Fate” is only Tertium’s name/nickname/pseudonym/whatever, isn’t it?)

    Comment by OneMore — May 20, 2011 @ 12:38 am

    • Why Secundum? It’s Primum. We’ve never seen Secundum until now, but we know it was definitely Primum to be defeated by Nagi during the assault on Gravekeeper’s Palace twenty years ago. Of course, this makes the last page of this chapter VERY confusing about its placement in the timeline, but I guess it will be explained in the next one. After all, Dynamis had already stated he was the one who revived Primum as Secundum, so this must be Zect reviving Secundum as Tertium.

      • Yeah, that’s Primum, my mistake.

  5. @Kasion, OneMore: Fixed and fixed.

Though unless you can find me a place that specifically calls him Primum or Secundum (which AFAIR are purely fan creations) I’ll be sticking to Fate for now.

  6. Thank you, CanonRap.

I love your translation for both of those high ancient spells. They’re clean and simple, but powerful in words, and the two have a harmonic tune while sounding cool.

    • I aim, as always, to please.

      • Hmm,.. But, did you have Greek version of those spell… I love Negima’s style of spell.
And, did you have Negi’s absobtion magic circle that used against Rakan?

        Comment by Shinji Akitsuki — May 22, 2011 @ 3:36 pm

        • I would’ve kept it in Greek if there was any. Akamatsu’s apparently decided to do all spells (old and new) in Japanese until the compilations.

          Also, yes I do.

  7. Ahaha… Finally, Fate’s origin revealed. Anyway, Thanks for your tiresome work, Canonrap

  8. I don’t want Fate to die, he’s like, the most awesome villain in the manga world !!!!! T^T. But is it just me, or Fate looked more innocent and childlike in the last page?
