things and more things

Filed under: Updates — CanonRap @ 9:22 pm

The majority of the Creatures page is done and up.

As for other stuff, well, List of Mantras is mostly done. Might add a section in spells for all the things the Valkyries do. Eastern Magic and Concepts still on the backburner. Making a character chart is actually much harder than I thought, but quite fun.

PS: Was working with some videos, one thing led to another… here’s a GIF from OAD4:

  1. Looks quite good. Oh, but no ghost? Sayo ;_;

You should totally do a tentative fan strength chart” too. Eva would be at the top with Life-Maker for sure. Rakan and Nagi below them, and the rest should be easy from there.

  2. I can see why Demon Negi would be outside any allegiances – though he seems less like a personality to me and more like KILLMAIMBURN! with Negi’s own skills backing it up – but why’s Fake Eva out of it? >_> I like this chart a lot better then the other one I’ve seen so far though, with it’s overlapping boxes and zig-zagging and criss-crossing lines all over the place making it look like some kind of geometric gibberish🙂

Speaking of OAD4, has anyone subbed it yet? >_>

  3. @Evangeline: Sayo is under Yuurei in Youkai.

As for a Strength Chart, well, maybe?

@Carect: Those two are actually outside because I haven’t decided where to put them yet… though they’ll probably stay there anyway. I put Fake Eva aside because she’s distinct enough from Eva and she’s not so much “working together” as being called out of the scroll whenever they needed her.

And IIRC subs for OAD4 were released at the end of last month.

  4. Sorry, must had overlooked Yuurei.

Well, if you do make a strength chart avoid using numbers, but letter ranking like C, B, A, AA, S, SS, etc. instead.

  5. I hadn’t realized you were making a chart. Very sweet! ^_^

  6. Also, I hadn’t realized that Sayo was jibakurei. That is very interesting considering we’ve had nothing from the manga about her past other than her presence was known by Takahata (and likely the other mage teachers).

  7. The strength chart we had from Rakan is decent enough for what it is. We know that there are a few rather questionable entries and such, but adding anything at all beyond that is pretty much fan speculation.

(like Eva being stronger than Nagi, or Eva being as strong as the LM, or what not)

  8. @AstroNerdBoy: The jibakurei was from the first chapter where she was introduced (in Vol9, IIRC?) – and actually, you just totally made me facepalm because it’s not 自縛霊: ghost of suicide, but 地縛霊: restligeist. I missed the distinction because of the pronunciation. Damn translation errors -_-

Also, I agree with Kuze on the chart thing.

  9. Just out of curiosity, what program are you using to make the chart?

  10. Photoshop.

  11. @Kuze
Hence “tentative fan strength chart”. It’s quite doable especially through scaling and expression/impression of strength.

    I’m just suggesting is all.

That’s where it gets waaaaaay too subjective.

Not to tl:dr anyone, but we still haven’t seen a fair amount of the LM/Nagi/Zecht fight, or a lot of the Nagi fights, we have never seen unsealed and unassisted Eva against someone who we can measure her against, and then also we have never seen the majority of what Ala Rubra’s travels were like.

We’re missing a lot of the details, is what it is. That’s up to Ken to fill in the blanks, if he feels like it.

  13. It’s just for fun and is speculation. Naturally, those uncertain/unknown will be labeled as such, but placed there through scaling. Rough, and could use some tweaking, but a model to go by…
