(Friday spoilers.) (Updated for full chapter… not that there’s much to add.)
Some sort of theoretical offspring between Hakurei Reimu and Nanaya Shiki?
Picking up from 298: Negi repeats his last line. He doesn’t expect Fate to believe him, so he’ll just have to beat the truth into him.
Of course, everyone else is still reeling from his claim. Even Chisame wonders if he’s just boasting…
“I’m not good at lies or jokes, Chisame-san.
Theoretically, it is almost complete. I’ve also completed the preparatory experimental studies.”
Off-screen prep time?
“Of course, it’s just an idea. It’ll be impossible if we can’t get everyone working together.
Yes; when we return to Mahora, perhaps… even iincho-san can be of help.”
Before he can elaborate, something big comes stomping down – some sort of giant demon (like Takane’s familiar, maybe?) appears behind Zazie. Uh, Poyo.
“Well, boy… are you serious -poyo?”
“I can’t trust a suggestion coming from a child who has barely lived ten years -poyo.”
“I understand… but this is my answer. If my plan goes off smoothly, every problem can be solved!”
“No, that’s wrong. You can’t solve this problem. Your path is still one of bloodshed -poyo. As I thought… I can only stop you, with all my strength.”
The rest of Ala Alba starts waking up from Kosmo Entelekheia – since Negi’s escape had “loosened the bindings” – and Zazie’s attack (which blows clean through the Palace walls, by the way) is blocked by Setsuna and Kaede.
“So everyone’s awake now -poyo. However, I cannot allow you all to put a stop in the plan.
I will see you all off -poyo. This time, to where you can truly never return from, the true ‘Kosmo Entelekheia’.”
“I’ll take care of Poyo Rainyday-san! Everyone else, use this chance to head for the upper sections and focus on the rescue!”
(Chiu: Is it okay to use Poyo as her name? Really?)
“No, Negi-sensei, you’re the leader, and our greatest strength. Leave this to me, and lead everyone else upwards.”
“That’s no good, Captain! Poyo-san’s strength is still unknown! It’s possible that she’s an even stronger enemy than Fate and his group! I should be here -”
“That’s exactly why you must preserve your strength. Trust me, boy.”
Mana triggers a number of Chao-invented bounding ‘Gravity Mines’ set around Zazie, increasing the gravity 50x for an instant, then firing a single shot to crush Zazie and… whatever that is behind her through the ground and into the bottomless void below. Mana tells Negi to save his friends and settle things with his rival, then jumps down gun-first after her (Gandalf-style?)
“Not bad -poyo… Shrine maiden sniper, Tatsumiya Mana! (Wow, I never realised how ridiculous that was.)
You were convinced -poyo. The future which the boy advances towards, that is the future of Chao Lingshen! For a while, you had wagered on Chao’s ideal – are you all right with that -poyo?”
“That’s right… I had. But… still, now I feel like betting on Negi-sensei.”
Because of the thick amount of mana in the ruins, Mana fires Chao’s BCTL’s from the Mahora Festival.
“But, that’s not all I’ve got.
It’s been five years since I’ve done a full release… but that’s no deficiency against an opponent like this.”
“That demon eye… and that form… so you’re…”
“Yeah. I’m half-demon.“
I guess it’s obvious that there’s more to Mana than just… um, shrine maiden sniper with a demon eye, but I didn’t expect for her to be an actual demon, if only a half-blood.
Spoilers themselves are a bit unclear this time (lots of illegible text) so I guess it’s time to wait for the full chapter.
