Move along, nothing to see here.
Yue can only remember up to about the middle of her second year, ie. she remembers Nodoka and company but not Negi. Which is awfully convenient, but the direction Akamatsu is taking with her character is pretty interesting.
Her memories will probably come back eventually – just a matter of where it’d have the most impact on the plot.
Nodoka: We both like Negi-sense~ very much… admired him…
Wha-What’s that supposed to mean? What kind of situation would involve both of us ‘liking him very much’…? Is, is Japan okay with that sort of thing…?
N-No, wait. That’s not right. In this case, ‘liking him very much’ is probably the same as ‘admiring’ him.
The reason why these feelings I have been worrying about doesn’t connect with that sort of conclusion must be a side-effect of the memory loss. If I don’t do something about this I’ll be betraying my best friend, Nodoka…
Dual-wielding Valkyrie Yue. Oh, how do they rise…
The rest of the talk is basically them sharing their experiences over the last few months.
And Yue finally calls Emily, er, “Emily”.
“Y-Yue… how impure~!”
LOL. Even more LOL at Haruna’s “explanation”. I’ll see how the scans handle this one.
Yuuna and Makie Pactio and entry into Ala Alba seem pretty eminent, considering they’re prominently shown on the full spread (with Luna!), even wearing their MahoraFest costumes.
As expected, the Sports 4 immediately bumped into demon!Negi and almost got themselves killed. Luckily, Negi still retains some humanity and stops after seeing Ako’s bangle. The set they won at the MahoraFest in volume 14. Talk about your invisible guns of Chekhovian make.
In any case, Eva completely ices him for the lulz. “He won’t die from something of this level,” indeed.
“…Are you frightened by the boy’s appearance?”
Nope, not Makie, who somehow makes the demonic parts fade away from Negi. Actually, all four of them can do it, for some reason.
Anyway, it does seem like Negi’s mainly having a battle in his own mind at the moment.
“Well, how’s it gonna be? How ’bout y’all four Pactio at the same time?”
Second LOL of the chapter: Chamo tempting Ako with the age pill.
Takane brings up Yuuna’s parents being Magister Magi during a conversation, while Ako is alone with asleep!Negi and an age pill. Oh, conundrums.
Overall, pretty much the moving-between-plot-points chapter that reveal mostly what’s been suspected and expected for some time. Though it does lay a couple of mines for the future: Yue’s memories and her interaction with Negi and Nodoka, how Beatrix/Collet/Luna will be handled after this arc, the Pactio of the Sports 4, and how Yuuna will deal with her own heritage.
And how on earth did Makie manage to ‘heal’ Negi again?
