Ibuki-dono ooharahe

Doing the Another World OAD1 sub got me interested in going over Konoka’s whole ritual prayer again, so I did a page on it in the same style as that on Gravity Magic/black holes/Encompandentia Infinitas. Here it is.

And formatted Artifacts while I was at it.

Still waiting for Vol.27 so I can get cracking on those new lexicon entries (and there better be lots, given all the new stuff that got pulled out).

PS: Translation now fixed for idiocy.

  1. I look forward to those entries. I wonder, though. Are you going to eventually do a complete lexicon/library for Negima? I think there are more info from past volumes. Things like how words and language affects magic in the Negima-verse. The older the language and incantation, the more powerful/mystery it is. With seemingly, Ancient Greek being very top tier, if not, the highest. Then there’s things like spiritual ranking, telepathy/ESP, and so on. I think info from the words of characters in-universe should also be considered for original research. An example would be physical and magical barriers. Maybe even an entry for Shinso/Hi-Daylight Walker?

  2. A ‘complete’ (if I can use that word…) Negima resource site is my goal right now. Mostly, I want to focus on the parts of the verse or story that a reader might miss during the first reading, or only mentioned in passing in the story itself – background terminology, how certain phenomena work, the history, etc.

To put it another way, what I want on Vetus is the information unlikely to be on regular (English) fansites and resources. So for now I’m avoiding most of the forefront plot elements like character bios and such – that’s easy enough to find elsewhere.

  3. Ah, I see. Oh, do you know of Ken Akamatsu Works Research Institute website? It has a mess of info, trivia, a timeline, and a mess of data there that’s regularly updated. It might be helpful to check out. I think the trivia section is pretty interesting.

If I was able to, I’d like to help out a bit. Sadly, I can’t read Japanese, so I can’t translate. ;_; I don’t exactly trust Del Rey’s script for the lexicon much, especially for the first several volumes from what I hear of there translation quality.
